Football manager- Formations

The 4-4-1-1, if you have the players to play with a 5 man midfield then i suggest you do so it works really well with the amc helping the midfield. This formation works really well against the big teams and makes sure they don't dominate you as much, the amc plays a role like Wayne Rooney does with Manchester United. 

The 4-5-1, once again a formation which it's main aim is possession works very well against bigger teams and teams who play a Barcelona type game keeping the ball. The Defensive midfielder plays deeper than centre mids and helps break up attacks early.

The 4-3-3 with wide midfielders, I use this formation when playing lower rep teams or I change to this formation when chasing a game. Works very well if the other team aren't playing 5 in midfield if they are you will just get dominated.

Premier league 2011

With the new premier league season starting soon, I thought i'd post my first blog on who I think the favourites are. Obviously Manchester United last years winners will be up there and i think they have a good chance after building on last years team with the signings of De gea, Ashley young and Phil Jones, although they lost Van der sar and Paul Scholes to retirement i think they will still be very strong and will prove hard to beat. Chelsea who fell short last season will also be up there but i think they are lacking in depth and if they get a few injuries could struggle, there new manager will also need to find a way of playing Torres and Drogba together if he wants goals. Liverpool impressed during the last part of the season with new manager Kenny Dalgliesh, also new signings Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson will help and i think they could have a good chance of the top 4. Manchester City could have a good season if they become more consistent although Tevez has been linked with a move away from City and this could affect them as he is there main scorer. Arsenal once again fell at the last hurdle last season, they still lack consistency and need to improve that if they want a chance this season, also losing Clichy and Fabregas and Nasri being linked with moves to Barcelona and Man united, if the lose the last two i think Arsenal will struggle for a top 4 finish.
